Components
DESCRIPTION
The Team Leader::
- Provides leadership, command, and control to members of a sUAS team, including the sUAS Pilot and sUAS Data Technician (if attached).
- Acts as a sUAS Pilot when required.
- Ensures the safety of the crew and team
- Communicates safety, hazards, and concerns to the team and crew
- Tracks and logs flight activities.
TRAINING
Completion of the following:
- IS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS-100
- IS-200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response, ICS 200
- IS-700: National Incident Management System, An Introduction
- IS-800: National Response Framework, An Introduction
- AZ SAR Basic Course
- Appropriate course of training on the implementation of sUAS on emergency incidents (provide documentation).
EXPERIENCE
- Possess a completed/certified ASARCA sUAS Position Task Book (PTB) for:
- Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Team Leader and
- Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Pilot.
- Has performed as an sUAS Pilot.
PHYSICAL/MEDICAL FITNESS
Performs duties under moderate circumstances characterized by working consecutive 12 hours days under physical and emotional stress for sustained periods of time.
PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Current FAA Remote Pilot Certificate issued in accordance with 14 CFR Part 107 - Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
- NIST-Based Proficiency
- Possess current 107.29 Daylight Waiver permitting sUAS operation at night.

Description
The Remote Pilot:
- Operates the UAS and associated systems in a safe and effective manner according to local, state, tribal, and Federal regulations.
- Is responsible for all aspects of the UAS flight and performs pre-flight checks and crew briefings.
- Ensures the safety of the crew and team
- Communicates safety, hazards, and concerns to the flight crew
- Tracks and logs flight activities.
TRAINING
Completion of the following:
- IS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS-100
- IS-200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response, ICS 200
- IS-700: National Incident Management System, An Introduction
- IS-800: National Response Framework, An Introduction
- AZ SAR Basic Course
- Appropriate course of training on the implementation of sUAS on emergency incidents (provide documentation).

Description
The Data Technician:
- Manages and ensures the safety of collected data from UAS sorties/missions.
- Processes raw data into GIS and other work products appropriate for the mission.
- Performs analysis of data and information to assist decision-makers.
- Coordinates with the Team Leader on analysis and distribution of data and information.
- Acts as a Visual Observer on sUAS flights when requested.
- Ensures the safety of the crew and team
- Communicates safety, hazards, and concerns to the team.
- Tracks and logs flight activities.
Training
Completion of the following:

- IS-700: National Incident Management System, An Introduction
